ABOUT THE BORI COLLECTIVE

Who we are?

Building a sustainable bridge between Boricuas in the archipelago, the diaspora, and allies.

WHO WE ARE

The Bori Collective

The Bori Collective was founded in January 2024, growing from the organizing momentum of the previous year’s parade. We serve as a bridge between the Boricua diaspora and the archipelago, advocating for a free and thriving Puerto Rico.

Grounded in values such as sovereignty, solidarity, and community empowerment.

We strive to challenge colonial systems and uplift the voices of those on the frontlines in the archipelago.

The Bori Collective’s work centers on building a sustainable bridge between Boricuas in the archipelago and within the diaspora & allies.

VALUES / PRINCIPLES

What guides our work.

01

We believe in Puerto Rico’s right to become a self sustaining, autonomous nation.

02

We believe that Puerto Rico is an occupied land.

03

Cancel the illegal debt, abolish La Junta, decolonize Puerto Rico.

04

Centering the communities and organizations fighting to survive everyday in the archipelago is a major and critical component in fighting for a free Puerto Rico. There is value in what we bring as a diasporic community but our work must always be aligned with what our comrades in the archipelago are working on.

05

We believe that education is an essential component to the revolution and so there can’t be any mobilizations without people knowing why they are doing what they do.

06

It’s not about “I” or “me”. We aren’t a space to build personal agendas or platforms. This collective came together because we genuinely care for our people in Puerto Rico. We want to see our communities (both in the archipelago and diaspora) thrive and believe that everyone has the potential to do special things when given the resources and opportunity to do so.

07

Our word is our bond: When we say we’re going to do something, it’s a commitment we’re making with the community.

08

Our commitment isn’t just to our comrades in Puerto Rico, but to each member within the group. As a community, it is important that we care for one another. We must be present for each other and be an example of what a genuine community looks like.

09

Dismantle Act 60 and provide alternatives that support the Diaspora moving back. Rematrian is an act of resistance.
